aboutGolf doesn't believe in cutting corners with its graphics. All graphics are fully 3-dimensional, applying the most advanced technology available. This enables real time 30 fps rendering of any scene anywhere, and complete accuracy with respect to terrain, trees and objects. If we were cutting corners we'd just use pictures of trees and objects or resort to just photos for the entire landscape.

Instead, we spend 14-24 man-months to meticulously produce each course, precisely replicating every detail. We obtain the best possible terrain data, accurate to within inches. We commission thousands of reference photos, including calibrated aerial photos, to ensure exacting specs. It is possible to speed through courses in weeks, use low-resolution publicly accessible data, and not concern oneself with details most players wouldn't notice.

But we live for those detials. We pride ourselves on the details that discerning individuals do notice and that have a subliminal effect on your play. So we painstakingly embark on a pursuit for perfection with each new course we develop and with each object that is rendered.

And aboutGolf Labs, our R&D division, is continually implementing new graphics techniques with real-time lighting, shadow casting, self-shadowing, ambient occlusion, light scattering, textures, glares, mapping, environmental variablility, wind and weather, clouds and wildlife, sound, depth of field and motion blur. We're bringing the outdoors in with each new advancement on each stunning course.
